At the age of 34, Phyllis gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ; and since then, it has been her fervent quest to experience His grace, mercy and love daily and to share that love with others. In 2005 Phyllis was ordained a Deaconess by Pastors Linwood and Apostle Dr. Karen Bethea and on December 31, 2015 Phyllis was ordained a Licensed Minister.  She has been a servant and faithful member at Set the Captives Free Outreach Center for 15 years. Having a heart of servitude and a standard of excellence is embedded in Minister Phyllis’s life. In addition to being a servant of God and a student of the Word, she allows her faith to be extended to the professional and community arena. Her call to serve those who think that they have to suffer in silence is one of passion, empathy, love and a desire to see women overcome adversity through the word of God and His practical application. She is committed to helping those who are struggling with adversity in their family setting and do not see a way out. Her books Daddy’s Little Girl & Mommy’s Dreaded Seed and The Suicide Survivor evolved out of a life that was consumed with pain, abuse and the murder of her father, to a life of an overcomer through Christ who restored her to wholeness and gave her beauty for ashes.

Minister Phyllis also had a “Feed the Hungry” ministry where she fed and clothed those who are living on the streets and in shelters in the Baltimore City area. She writes daily encouragements and uplifting blogs for her website “The Overcomers Network called “The Daily Lift”.

Minister Phyllis is a Certified Mental Health Coach who dedicates her time and skills to coaching, educating and empowering women on how to walk in their God given purpose, live their God-ordained lives and instructing women on how to allow God to restore and change them from the inside out back to wholeness, despite their brokenness.  Minister Phyllis has served on several platforms as a speaker, workshop presenter and preacher, but her passion is to impact and empower women to be the best version of the “whole woman” that God created them to be.
