Today’s Uplift: Don’t Seek Approval from Man!

One thing about humanity…. and that is we all want approval, but why should we exhaust ourselves performing for a world/people that do not want to give us kudos? Let’s choose to live for God’s approval and free ourselves from others controlling our confidence. No matter what we do God’s love for us never changes! When we get into a mess, He wants to help us get out, remember He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.

One of the things that I found out early on is that material things are not enough to make you feel good about yourself. If you notice, getting older and acquiring more things won’t make you feel the way you dreamed it would. Because soon you will start to live for the words of praise from others. It feels good when you are getting attention, but you may never seem to get enough (kind of like my Hershey Cherry Kisses that I eat). Sometimes we became obsessed with doing whatever we have to do in order to get one more compliment! However, no amount of praise could eliminate that approval addiction.

When we become adults is there a magical age at which we feel free from needing the approval of others? I’ve seen very few women of God who do not fight daily for the approval of others. Maybe we’re not as obvious about our approval addiction as we were years ago, but we do some crazy things as adult women to find our worth. If you think about it, it is the approval of man that keeps us from living for God—the one who pre-approved us even before we were born. We need only to look to our Maker for acceptance!

Today, search your heart and ask this question: Whose approval do I seek? Am I living my life for the approval and praise of people, or of God? God wants to save us from exhausting ourselves by performing for a world that doesn’t want to even compliment us. He designed you to desire Him and Him alone. When you choose to live for Him; you will never again be thirsty for attention, because you will be hydrated in His love and adoration for you! So, tell me …. Whose praise do you seek?

Repeat after me….I am enough without anyone else’s stamp and without anyone else’s validation or approval! I am walking in my destiny, and the approval of others is not needed! I will never trade my authenticity for anyone’s approval! I am a one of a kind, an original masterpiece and a Princess Warrior!

I pray that you will find the thrill of knowing that our Father in Heaven adores you and loves to shower you with praise. That you will be forever free from the bondage of being a people pleaser! May your empty cup be filled up daily with God’s love. May you be able to pour out His love on others because you are Full. May you never forget how much the Lord loves you, and how precious you are to Him.

Overcomer, always look to our Heavenly Father for His approval! It’s all that really matters.
